To improve traffic flow and enhance the efficiency of kerbside pick-up and drop-off at the airport, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has fully implemented the Vehicle Access Management System (VAMS). This new system enforces a time limit and an overstay penalty mechanism at the kerbside lanes of the Departure and Arrival Levels of KLIA Terminal 1 (T1).

Restriction Details:

• Free Grace Period: Each vehicle is entitled to a 10-minute free grace period for the purpose of picking up/dropping off passengers or loading/unloading luggage.

• Timing Commencement: The clock starts immediately upon the vehicle entering the kerbside lane.

• Exceeding 10 Minutes: Any vehicle exceeding the 10-minute limit will be considered in violation and subject to corresponding penalties (overstay charges) based on the duration of the overstay.
